It’s been a roller coaster ride of a journey with my goal of earning $250 each month. I started the year strong, fell flat on my face, and then came back with a vengeance. In April, things went well, but not as good as in March. So just how well did I do?
April Savings Challenge
At the end of the month, I checked in with an extra $127.50 of side income. Not my best number, but not my worst either. What really threw my for a loop was our trip to Ireland. I didn’t want to schedule any eBay auctions while away because I didn’t know if I could keep track of any questions, etc. that people might have. Also, I didn’t want to put stuff up on Craigslist when I wouldn’t be around to meet up and complete the sale.
What I should have done was been more active earlier in the month so that this issue wouldn’t have come to pass. When we did get home, I started up some eBay auctions, but then ended here in May. So, I at least have some momentum already this month. Overall, here is a breakdown of what I’ve done this year by month.
With my overall goal of $250 per month, I am currently a little less than $350 behind schedule. Looks like I am going to have to seriously step things up over the next few months. While I am a little concerned, we also are heading into yard sale season, so hopefully I can find some hidden gems to resell.
